05/06/12 Mount POW MIA

This was a new summit for Andre and I. We were unsure of the best place to start, and the most likely places were near private driveways. There may be a trail in that area, but rather than trespass we drove until the Eklutna Road hooks South and parked at a pullout. We just poked out way up the ridge through the forest. No bushwhacking and barely any snow. This is a good (and less popular) alternative to Rainbow Peak if you're looking for a South facing hike that melts off early in the spring. 4.3 miles round trip with 3250' of elevation gain.

Looking at the route we hiked up.

 Dogs claim the summit!
